The Littlest Pet Shop DVD Review of Sweetest Pets, Product Provided…
I’ve seen the toys in stores but didn’t know that The Little Pet Shop had their own television series! With tweeners, silly talking pets, and musical numbers, I had a feeling this would be right up my daughter’s alley. When we received the Littlest Pet Shop: Sweetest Pets, she couldn’t wait to watch it.
The series is extremely cute and focuses on the friendship of the pets and of Blythe, who lives above the pet shop and happens to be able to talk to them. The pets get mini-daydreams, kind of reminiscent of the Muppet Babies of the 80’s. And, of course, there are mini musical numbers sprinkled here and there.
The DVD includes five episodes and a bonus coloring sheet. The episodes included are:
- Topped with Buttercream
- Trading Places
- Sweet (Truck) Ride
- What’s in the Batter?
- Bakers and Fakers
With the pet shop located next to a bakery, these adventures of Blythe and the pets are sweet in more ways than one. One of the episodes features the pets on sugar overdose and shows the negative impact of too much sugar – nice lesson. I really thought the characters were well-defined yet typically tween. No middle school crushes though, thankfully. It’s so nice to find a show I don’t have to feel guilty about my daughter watching!
About the series:
