I’m not usually adventurous when it comes to exploring a new area. Why? It’s because I have no sense of direction! I can follow maps and written directions, but spin me around and I have no idea which way I came from or where I should head.
That changes when my husband is with me, though, since his sense of direction is fabulous. One time, as we were about to go along our usual route for a family bike ride, we decided to head the opposite direction just for fun. We had no idea what we would find there. Apparently, behind the local driving range, lived a whole population of feral cats (read the post about that here). In addition to learning of an entire wild cat program, we were treated to some amazing views of the bay and surrounding around that we had not seen before. It definitely pays to try something new once in a while!
