Why Isn’t There an App For That?

Woman Mom busy stressed overload errand to do timeMy trip to New York for the Avengers event is getting closer and closer, but I am so not prepared! It seems like the minute I finish one thing, a million others pop up on my ‘to do’ list. Have I written and scheduled all my posts? No. Have I planned my wardrobe? No. Have I watched all the movies leading up the Avengers? Yes, and that was pretty fun too.

I am barely managing to do stay on top of my daughter’s schoolwork, cook for the family, care for the dog, meet deadlines, and go grocery shopping. As for the house, if my husband wasn’t so helpful when he’s off work, our home would be completely disheveled and we’d have no clean laundry. Whew – there’s never enough time to do it all! Can you relate to feeling overwhelmed?

Wouldn’t it be great if we could finish all our housework and other errands by just scheduling it online? Then ‘poof’ dinner was cooked and the table was set. Better yet, what about a smartphone app? How awesome would it be if you could drag and drop the dishes from the dishwasher into the cabinets? Oh well, a girl can dream, can’t she?

In the meantime, some things can be done to make things easier. For example you can schedule payments direct from your checking account, buy some household/grocery items online and have it delivered to your door, get a home insurance quote with Money Mupermarket, or help your child to use a search engine to find pictures and information for a school project instead of making a trip to the library.

How do you tackle your to do list?

If I seriously want to get my to do list done, I have to schedule time blocks for each item on the list. Otherwise I have a tendency to flit from thing to thing and I’m very inefficient.

Well, you seem to be doing great and I love your ‘flitting’ 🙂

Oh my gosh! How awesome would it be to have an app to run the house?!? I never feel like I’m caught up or on top of all of my family’s needs. I have started getting my family more involved in the chores, which has helped alot!

Thanks for stopping by I Am Boymom the other day. It’s always fun to meet new blog friends, which is why I love the Ultimate Blog Party at 5M4M. I’ll stop by as often as I can!

I’m glad that your family is cooperating 🙂 I’m sorry I haven’t been by since but I’m coming, I promise!

You’ll never know, it may only be a matter of time before an app like that gets launched 🙂

Yes, it really is overwhelming to be a mom (in my case, a single mom) There’s just a million and one things to juggle in the air. It’s never easy, but we cope, don’t we? 🙂

I try to do errands on weekends, when my daughter’s away with her dad. The rest of the week, I’m all hers. I guess it is a blessing that I have househelp.

My mom raised four girls on her own so I know that it’s not easy being a single mom. However, to this day, she is the fastest and most efficient at everything regarding the house, budget, etc. I’m glad you get a little ‘off’ time to just do stuff you need to without distractions. Then you get to enjoy your DD the rest of the week 🙂

As much as possible, I try to remember everything that I have to do in my mind. But the mind can sometimes forget, so I stick post-it notes on the fridge only to remind me of some stuff to do. Try making yours too!

Great idea. I do try to write notes…but then I lose them 😛 I’m really trying to tackle a few things at a time and write down the rest to prioritize later.
