WordGirl is one of my daughter’s favorite shows right now. She is a super girl that wins battles with her vast vocabulary. She also has a sidekick monkey named Captain Huggyface. Season 3 starts today, August 23rd, with all-new episodes! My daughter and I were able to watch the new episode on Friday as we got an early screener. Isn’t that exciting?
Here’s the official information for the episodes:
The end of summer is always a bummer. In “Bummertime!”, it’s the last day of summer and Becky Botsford (aka dictionary superhero WordGirl) wants to spend it reading her favorite book in a hammock and play outside with her friends. But Tobey, and his latest robot creation Chronos, are getting in the way. Becky must figure out how to stop crime and still enjoy her last day of vacation. The episode features two great vocabulary words – PROLONG and AGGRAVATED.
Who doesn’t love a summer baseball game? When TJ hits a home run in “The Homerun King”, he becomes the city’s latest superhero. But when he starts to fight real crimes and gets in over his head, WordGirl has to step in and save the day. The episode features two great vocabulary words – EXTRAORDINARY and FORTUNATELY.
These were great episodes. I loved how Becky had her ‘lazy’ summer completely planned and charted in “Bummertime”. There are nice issues touched upon in “The Homerun King” as TJ and Becky have a bit of sibling rivalry going. I know my daughter will be wanting to watch it when the official, final version of the episode is shown.
I was sent a screener of the episode to review it. The thoughts expressed here are 100% my honest opinion.
