Ahhhh! I love him/her!
Really? What an unexpected reaction 😛 It’s a him – only the males have the long snout (which we just found out too).
Oh my! What a beast! lol
Imagine waking up to that every morning 😛
Such a funny face!
It’s just so strange, isn’t it?
He looks so weird! I don’t think I’ve ever saw one of those before. Great shot!
It was our first time as well. They’re just so unreal and, well, bizarre!
Awesome picture!!! I think he/she is cute!
Cute? Hmm, I guess so if you squint really hard and tilt your head 45 degrees… It’s a male btw 🙂
It’s so ugly it’s cute
Yep, like Sun Fish!
I agree, it’s so ugly it’s cute.
They really are odd things, eh?
When I was up there last year, I met the woman who blogs about the Elephant Seals there. Here is her blog:
http://elsealnotes.blogspot.com/. You’ll find all you need to know about them there.
That’s great to know – I’ll link to her on tomorrow’s post 🙂 Stay tuned…we had a great trip in that area and I’ll be putting up several posts of fun things to do and where to stay 🙂 I’d love your suggestions as well for a repeat trip!
Oh my is that thing big!
Monstrously so! They are massive!
Aww such a cute face!
Haha, that’s not the reaction I had 😛
what an interesting creature!
I know, it’s like some mutation or something!
Wow, you’ve been getting some really amazing shots lately. Are you doing a bunch of traveling?
This particular one was from this past weekend but most from trips taken a few years ago. There’s no way I could travel to a new place each week 🙂 It’s just a good way of building my travel section and showing off some cool shots we’ve gotten over the years!
Awwww!!
He’s got some majorly big, puppy-like eyes, eh?
I love Elephant seals. Awesome shot!!!
Oh? This was the first time I’ve seen them in real life and they were so odd to me. Tomorrow I’ll be posting some video footage 🙂
It’s pathetic but I have to ask what that is??? A seal, walrus?
It’s a see-rus! Just kidding – they are called elephant seals and you can see how the male snort resembles a trunk 🙂
I say cute but strange-lol:)
So true but it was really cool seeing them ‘relatively’ close-up.
What a great expression. It almost looks as though he were posing..
I know – aren’t his big, round eyes great?!
That’s one of those “so ugly its cute” critters! lol Great shot!
Haha, yep. He’s just so bizarre that you can’t stop looking at him 😛
What an interesting photo. I can imagine you had a great time.
Oh, it was just so fantastic. I wish all vacations were this relaxing!
You seem to have a lot of experiences … and capture great pictures! This is too cute!
It doesn’t seem like it to us but, as we go through our pictures and document them through the blog, we find that we’ve had a chance to do quite a bit as a family. Though not photography experts, both my husband and I appreciate nice ‘kodak moments’. My daughter is getting a bit of a photography bug as well 🙂
I can actually say I’ve never seen one of those before. Interesting
Kas
This was the first time for me too!
That shot is AMAZING!
It’s all the work of great optical zoom and Photoshop 🙂
He is beautiful! Great picture!
Thanks! He’s certainly something special 😛
I love this picture… Reminds me of Pier 39 with the cute seals.
At least those are cute though 😛
